LIMINGTON —The Saco River Wildlife Center created a video of a porcupine in its care to demonstrate the different noises the critter makes.

The video can be seen by clicking on the link below. Spoiler alert: it’s supercute.

“Since porcupines have poor eyesight, they heavily rely on different senses to help them navigate and survive in the wild. These unique vocalizations help them to communicate. Primarily these noises consist of grunting, teeth chattering, and even loud shrieking,” said the wildlife center in the Facebook post.

The Saco River Wildlife Center, located at 238 River Rd, Limington rehabilitates injured, sick or orphaned Maine wildlife. The non-profit organization helps animals become healthy and develop the skills needed to return to their natural environment.

In addition to porcupines, other animals that go to the wildlife center for rehabilitiation include skunks, bats and racoons.

The center is currently operating in the founder’s basement and is looking for a piece of land to relocate. For more information on The Saco River Wildlife Center, or to make a donation, go to www.sacoriverwildlifecenter.org.
