OLD ORCHARD BEACH — It was hot and humid Thursday night, but that didn’t deter the estimated 700 or so who came out to The Ballpark to see Aerosmith tribute band, Draw the Line.

Last week kicked off the eight-week Concerts in The Ballpark series from the Old Orchard Beach Recreation Department.

“An amazing night of music. It brings back such fond memories of seeing bands at The Ballpark in my youth,” said Friends of The Ballpark President Alex MacPhail. “(Recreation Director) Jason Webber’s continued commitment to rebuilding the complex for everyone to enjoy is inspiring.

The next concert in the series is Heartland Radio, playing country music hits, from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, and gates will open at 5 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. There will be room for dancing in front of the stage.

Tickets are $10, and there is plenty of free parking at The Ballpark, located at the end of Ballpark Way of E. Emerson Cummings Boulevard.

The Ballpark concession stand will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs and other items, and alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase. Coolers, outside beverages and tailgating are not allowed.
