Classic Rock Orchestra draws record crowd at Old Orchard Beach Ballpark

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — A record amount of people showed up on Thursday, Aug. 11 to see the Classic Rock Orchestra.

Classic Rock Orchestra played a mix-tape of hits from the 1970s and 1980s. Their high energy performance included crowd-pleasers from artists such as Meatloaf, Heart, Toto, Pat Benatar and Stevie Nicks.

An enthusiastic audience of about 900 people filled the lawn in front of the stage. Some enjoyed the show from their lawn chairs while others – young and old- rushed to the front to dance.

Last week’s audience had the largest number of people to date at the Rock the Park: Summer Concert Series 2022, presented by the Old Orchard Beach Recreation Department.

The next concert in the series is Runnin’ Down a Dream, a Tom Petty Tribute band, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 at The Ballpark, 7 Ballpark Way. No Shoes Nation, a Kenny Chesney tribute band, will play on Thursday. Aug 25 at 6:30 p.m.
 
 

Concert admission is $5 for adults, and free for children 12 and younger. Food and beverages are available for purchase, and no outside food or drinks are allowed. There is a limited number of picnic tables, and concert goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
