Chipotle to open in Saco next week

SACO — The wait is almost over for Chipotle Mexican Grill fans.
Chipotle Spokeswoman Erin Wolford said in an email that the new Chipotle restaurant at 45 Smith Lane in Saco is scheduled to open next week. Though Wolford did not give a specific day, a Google business listing for the new restaurant gives March 7 as the opening day.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is a fast casual chain restaurant featuring taco, burritos and other items made to order. The Saco Chipotle will have an indoor dining area as well as a “Chipotlane,” the company’s digital order drive thru pick-up lane, said Wolford.
This will be the first Chipotle in Saco and it will be located at the corner of Smith Lane and 507 Main St. (Route One) a newly constructed 5,400 square foot multi-unit commercial building at the site of a former Pizza Hut restaurant.
The building will also house the city’s first Jersey Mike’s Subs, a fast-casual sub sandwich franchise. Jersey Mike’s spokesman Kyle Potvin said the sandwich shop is expected to open in the second quarter of 2023.
There is a third business space in the building at 45 Smith Lane, which is currently unoccupied and has a “For Rent” sign.
